Mobility and strengthening activities utililizing med balls, stretch cables, and dumbells.  If you like variety and innovation you'll love this class.

 Classic Tai Chi   by Peter Wisla
 
Move with greater ease and efficiency, both mentally and physically through this system of fluid and continuous motions that gently build strength, coordination, and balance from within.  Students learn a version of classic moves that improve and restore health whitle exploring methods for relaxation, focus, and non-strenuous energy-renewal.  Peter is also teaching an aquatic Tai Chi.  See therpuetic pool page.

7 weeks, Mondays, Sep. 13 to Oct. 25,  5:15-6:45 
$65 prepaid-registration required.  $10 drop in fee.

Peter has enjoyed blending Tai Chi, Yoga and the creative arts within a wellness context as student and teacher since the '70's at programs in NYC, Montreal, Chicago, Madison Tai Chi for Health Center, Therapeutic Ai Chi at the Montreal Martial Arts Centre and Sound Healing & Meditation at Holistic Psychology Conferences.  He has given workshops and presentations about how Tai Chi and Yoga principles and exercises can improve balance, strength, coordination, concentration, mental clarity as well as overall health and well being.

Betsy has been a long time favorite instructor in the Lakeland Area.

Betsy has been a student of yoga since the 1970's and began teaching in the 1980's.  She is registered through the Yoga Alliance at the 500 hour level.  She has provided yoga training to various agencies including Nicolet Area Technical College, Howard Young Health Care, Marywood Spirituality Center and the Girl Scouts of America.  She has taught at the National Wellness Conference, Wellness Weekends at Conserve School, and Festival of India.  She has offered many workshops to community groups including Horisons Cancer Support Group, Hospice volunteers, area schools, and equestrian training programs. 
 
She traveled to Allahabad and Banares India with the Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy in 2001 for one month to attend to Maha Kumbh Mela.  Her other teachers include Lama Surya Das and Thich Nhat Hanh.
